Starting at 7PM, the agenda will include: schedules for the spring semester including all concerts and the banquet, a presentation by the band booster officers for 06-07, delivery information for frozen food orders, Information about the uniform exchange, and more information for the Carnegie Hall trip. Wow! What a meeting!!! These meetings are for every parent who has a child in the band. Come on!
our Indoor Color Guard for their great efforts this season. With Debbie Stites, Rachel Tolbert, and Joann Hodge as instructors, these girls have become the talk of the Carolina Indoor Performance Association. This next weekend, they will compete in the High School National level of competition at the April 1st CIPA Championships. This means that in fourteen months, we have moved from the entry level of competition to the top 10% of groups in the CIPA. We are so proud of each of these girls!
Here is how scheduling is working. Everyone in Marching Band for the fall is scheduled in one class that meets from 1:00-2:30 each day. This should be titled Marching Band Class. Non-competitive students (only with director approval) will be schedule at 11AM for 10-12 students and at 1:00 for 9th grade students. For the spring semester, the class schedule is: All ninth graders who are not in wind ensemble 2007 meet 11-12:30. All 10-12 not in wind ensemble are 11-12:30. All Winter guard members (non-players) 11-12:30. Wind Ensemble (name on the list) meet from 1-2:30 for the spring. If there are questions about your student schedule, please call us. We can help.

Through the great support of our parents and the staff at Freedom Hall, we were able to pull off what has been described as “The best show we have ever attended!”. Thank you to Donna Royston who headed up this event, the great work of each of the committee chairs and the support of McDonald’s our corporate sponsor for this event.
Our next step with the band boosters is elect our officers (April 6th) and then to fill the committee chairs for 06-07. If you want to help support your kid, here is a way of doing that and meeting many new people. Contact Bud and B.J. King, talk to them at our meeting, or visit the website and look at the information there. As kids and their parents graduate, there are always opportunities for you to help us grow the SHHS Band. You might have gifts to bring that no one has ever considered before. Jump in, get involved and help our kids be as successful as possible.
